The story of the Château Castagnac begins in 1930 with Paul Coudert.
Hairdresser then builder, Paul Coudert decide finally to focus his career on the vineyard management with the acquisition of some land on the region name Castagnac known for the quality of its wines and the chestnut harvest (Castagnac meaning chestnut in the old local language)
Some years later, with the support of his wife, Denise Coudert, he significantly extended the vineyard with the acquisition of 10ha in the region of Vérac.
At that time, the harvests are done by hand and its a spanish team which will come every September for the harvest work for more than 30 years.
